Happy anniversary, writers! This time last year, I launched the Submission Sunday Substack with this welcome note:
It's been ten years since I first started Submission Sunday as part of WordCraft LA: eight literary submission opportunities every other Sunday for all genres. Over the years, Submission Sunday migrated to Writing Workshops LA and then was shut down in early 2020. I've been asked about whether it was coming back ever since, and I’m delighted to say Yes! Now!
I was really excited to return to compiling and curating the Submission Sunday posts for whoever wanted to sign up, and the response was even better than I could have hoped. I’m so glad you’ve been here for the journey—whether you joined last year or last week.
Since we talked about writing contests in the last post for paid subscribers, I thought for our anniversary, I’d put together a special edition, contest-only post for you this week. (If you’re not yet a paid subscriber, consider yourself officially invited to join us for year two!) Sending gratitude and wishing you victory.
